Performing arts programme

At TIPS School Trichy, students engage in visual and performing arts from the earliest years through Upper Secondary, guided by specialist teachers in dedicated performing and visual arts centres where they explore painting, sculpture, music and drama.

Their creative journey culminates in the mammoth-scale Annual Stage Show, a grand celebration in the school auditorium that brings together the whole community to showcase talents in dance, drama and music.

Areas of specialisation

Dance

At The Indian Public School, Trichy, dance is a powerful language of expression and confidence. Students explore both Western and classical dance forms, learning to listen to music with their whole bodies, understand rhythm and refine coordination.

In our dedicated performing arts spaces, they practise technique, storytelling through movement and stagecraft. From classroom sessions to the mammoth-scale Annual Stage Show, every performance becomes an opportunity to build discipline, grace and presence under the spotlight.

Music

Music is designed to help every child discover their unique sound. Our dedicated, aesthetically designed music spaces provide the ideal environment for training in vocals and percussion instruments.

Students are introduced to melody, harmony and rhythm in structured yet joyful ways, gradually building both technical skill and musical sensitivity.

Whether they are rehearsing for the Annual Stage Show or collaborating with peers in ensembles, they learn to listen deeply, perform with confidence and appreciate music as a lifelong companion.

Music

Drama

Drama at TIPS Trichy is not just an extracurricular - it is woven into the fabric of our curriculum. Through role play, scripted performances and creative improvisation, students develop confidence, communication skills and empathy.

Regular platforms such as Drama Day allow them to experiment with characters and narratives, while our TED-Ed Club and TEDx Youth events give older students the chance to present original ideas and innovations to a real audience.

On stage and in the classroom, drama becomes a space where they learn to think on their feet, collaborate and find their authentic voice.

Kindergarten to Grade 8

From Grade 1 onward, visual arts lessons are an integral part of the regular learning journey, closely connected with Units of Inquiry rather than treated as stand-alone sessions.

At our international syllabus school in Trichy, students experiment with colour, form and different media, learning to express their ideas and emotions visually. Through age-appropriate projects, they begin building core skills such as fine motor coordination, visual storytelling and creative problem-solving, while also developing key learner attributes like being enquirers, open-minded and reflective.

Kindergarten to Grade 8

Grade 9 to Grade 12

Senior students who choose the visual arts pathway deepen their craft through the rigorous Cambridge Art & Design curriculum. Here, Visual Arts evolves into a space for serious exploration and self-expression - learners are introduced to advanced techniques, art appreciation and design thinking.

They investigate themes, research artists and movements and learn to plan, create and refine original pieces. Portfolio development becomes central, preparing students for IGCSE and AS/A Level assessments and opening doors to creative higher education pathways and careers. Throughout, they cultivate creativity, critical thinking and visual communication skills that are valuable well beyond the art studio.
