Celebrating multilingualism

At TIPS School Trichy, multilingualism is at the heart of everyday school life. We celebrate the power of languages as bridges between cultures, nurturing Tamil and English as the foundations of communication while introducing Hindi and French.

In this inclusive, learner-centred environment, students from diverse backgrounds develop language as a life skill that strengthens their identity, empathy and adaptability, gaining deeper appreciation for both local heritage and global perspectives as they grow into confident, culturally aware communicators.

Languages offered

From Toddler Programme to AS/A Level, our language pathways support every learner - from their first words to their greatest accomplishments.

English French Hindi Tamil

English

At our Cambridge Curriculum School in Trichy, English is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 12 through a full immersion curriculum aligned with IB and Cambridge (CAIE). Students develop strong skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening through classroom learning, discussions, projects, and presentations and further refine their English in cultural activities, inter-house competitions, Drama, Student-Led Conferences and Assemblies.

In IGCSE, they may choose English as a First Language or as a Second Language, and in AS and A Levels they take the General English paper, preparing them to communicate confidently in academic and global contexts.

French

French is a mandatory subject from Grade 6 to Grade 8 and is taught through a partially embedded curriculum inspired by the CIE IGCSE level, giving students early exposure to a major global language.

Students build foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening through simple dialogues, stories and structured activities and extend their learning through cultural experiences, inter-house programmes, songs, stories and language-based events that spark curiosity about Francophone cultures and support international mindedness.

Hindi

Hindi is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 8 as part of our commitment to India’s rich linguistic diversity. It follows a full immersion approach aligned with the Central Board, helping students systematically develop all four core language skills.

Through classroom learning, vocabulary building and interactive language tasks, students gain a solid foundation. They further practise Hindi in cultural programmes, inter-house activities, stories and songs, allowing them to experience Hindi as a living language that connects them to the wider national community.

Tamil

Tamil is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 10 and is taught through a full immersion curriculum aligned with the State Board. At our international school in Tamil Nadu, students develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through structured lessons that integrate literature, grammar and language activities.

Tamil is also woven into the cultural life of the school through songs, storytelling, inter-house events and school celebrations, helping students stay deeply connected to their linguistic and cultural heritage while gaining fluency and confidence.

Tailored language assessments

Students’ language progress is assessed through classroom tasks, presentations, TED Talks and other speaking activities, using rubrics and grade thresholds aligned with Cambridge standards to monitor growth across all four skills.
