Young learners experience a warm, play-based Kindergarten School in Trichy that blends Montessori, Waldorf and IB Primary Years principles, balancing material time (self‑exploration), structured and unstructured play, early language and numeracy, creative and performing arts and essential social‑emotional skills within a carefully prepared environment.
Students investigate big ideas in meaningful, connected ways as they inquire into their surroundings, communities and the natural world.
Learners step into six exciting themes and make connections between the classroom and the world exploring:
This inquiry-led approach helps them make sense of themselves and their environment, building deep conceptual understanding while naturally linking different subject areas.
Growing a love for language
Children develop language most naturally when they feel valued, listened to and encouraged to express themselves. English is introduced through engaging experiences such as stories, songs, conversations, puppetry, role play and shared classroom interactions.
Young learners are encouraged to speak about their ideas, listen carefully to others and enjoy books and storytelling as a community. Reading and writing begin in a gentle, age-appropriate way, allowing confidence to grow steadily as children learn to communicate their thoughts with happiness and ease.
Nurturing early problem-solvers
At The Indian Public School, Trichy, mathematics is woven into everyday learning and discovered through play. Children explore numbers, shapes, patterns and measurement while they build, sort, count, cook and take part in games.
With the help of hands-on resources and real-world experiences, mathematical understanding develops in ways that feel enjoyable and relevant. Children are invited to investigate, experiment and recognise that maths is present all around them.
Supporting healthy growth and movement
Movement-based activities, yoga, outdoor play and sensory experiences help children strengthen both gross and fine motor skills. Through dance, games, free movement, and play in outdoor spaces, they learn coordination, control, cooperation and confidence.
Physical activity also plays an important role in emotional wellbeing, helping children release energy, build resilience and develop a positive sense of self.
Inspiring self-expression
As one of the best Kindergartens in Trichy, creativity is encouraged through drawing sets, painting, collage, vocal music, rhythm and movement, storytelling and role play. These experiences help children develop imagination, concentration, confidence and creative thinking, while also supporting early artistic, musical and pre-writing development.
Building confidence and emotional awareness
Through friendship routines, turn-taking activities and role play, children learn how to share, listen, identify their feelings and regulate their emotions. They begin to practise empathy, problem-solving and positive ways of building secure and respectful relationships.
Honouring heritage and exploring the wider world
At our Kindergarten School in Trichy, we celebrate each child’s identity while helping them appreciate the diversity of the world around them. Culture is explored through stories, music, art, food, festivals and shared traditions.
As children encounter different ways of living and expressing themselves, they develop kindness, respect and empathy. Creativity and imagination are part of everyday learning, helping them feel connected, curious and proud of who they are.

As one of the best Kindergartens in Trichy, students’ academic growth is tracked through everyday learning moments rather than traditional tests. Teachers closely observe how students communicate, collaborate, solve problems and manage themselves in class, during group tasks and in learning centres. Progress is documented through formative observations, simple checklists and work samples that show how each child develops skills over time.
Parents are kept regularly informed through newsletters, weekly videos showcasing classroom learning, and scheduled Parent-Teacher Meetings. These platforms allow us to share student progress, celebrate achievements and maintain open communication, so parents can clearly see how their child is growing in confidence, curiosity and early academic skills.
In Kindergarten, children begin building essential life competencies as they play, explore and collaborate each day. Students develop communication, social, thinking, research and self‑management skills, and are gently guided to grow into IB Learner Profile attributes – becoming Communicators, Thinkers, Balanced, Principled, Caring, Open‑minded, Inquirers, Risk‑takers, Knowledgeable and Reflective learners.
Children transition to Primary School not just with foundational academic skills, but as confident, communicative and independent individuals ready for the next exciting step.
At our Kindergarten School in Trichy, children begin their language journey through play-based, transdisciplinary learning. English is the main language of interaction in the classroom, gently introduced through stories, songs, picture books, role play and circle-time conversations. At this stage, the focus is on building oral language, listening comprehension and the confidence to express needs, ideas and feelings.
Children are also introduced to a second language (Tamil) in age-appropriate ways, such as rhymes, action songs, simple vocabulary games and festival celebrations. This early exposure helps them recognise sounds, words and patterns in more than one language, laying the foundation for later reading and writing.
As children grow, they become increasingly independent, discovering new ways to learn while building confidence each day.
Discovering through play
In Pre-KG at TIPS Trichy, learning begins through play from the moment children arrive. The day starts with circle time, where children share experiences from home, express their ideas and join in songs, finger play, storytelling, movement and simple yoga. These experiences gently build confidence, language and a strong sense of belonging. Children then move into independent work with carefully selected Montessori materials. As they explore through hands-on play at their own pace, they strengthen concentration, independence and both fine and gross motor skills.
Building confidence and independence
In KG1 and KG2 at TIPS Trichy, children begin their day with independent material work, using hands-on resources that strengthen essential skills, deepen focus and grow self-confidence. Circle time follows, bringing the class together for stories, discussions and shared learning. Reading is introduced in KG1, while writing is gently brought in toward the end of the year. By KG2, children continue developing reading and mathematical understanding through active material-based learning, while writing becomes a meaningful and regular part of each day from the very beginning.
